Hot Bats of Hudson & Jernigan lead Aftershock to 2-game Friendly Sweep

Aftershock 12u Young was back in action on Sunday in Geneva, Ohio as they took on the Ohio Energy 11u and Willoughby Starzz 11u teams in a 3-team Friendly. The ladies of Aftershock, based out of Ashtabula County’s own village of Pierpont, took on two of the region’s top programs and came away with a pair of victories as Peyton Hudson and Elizabeth Jernigan combined to go 6-6 on the day, scoring 5 runs and driving in 4.

In the first game, Aftershock faced off with Ohio Energy and fell behind 4-1 after one inning. The ladies of Aftershock fought back scoring in each of the 4 innings and took the lead in the top of the 4th as Jernigan laid down a bunt single and Aislyn Fuller followed with a double to center to drive in two. In the end, the ladies scored a 7-4 victory as Hannah Young got the win and Eleigh Donathan picked up the save.

In the second game, Jernigan remained hot going 3-3 at the plate while she, Hudson and Donathan all drive in two runners. One of the hitting highlights in this game was Kylie Addair’s double to right in the bottom of the 3rd as Aftershock came into the inning with a slim 7-6 lead. Addair’s double scored Lauren Martin and opened the floodgates as Aftershock went on to win 15-6 in three innings.
